Finally, Late Nollywood Veteran Actor/Producer, Justus Esiri Had Been Laid To Rest In Abraka, Delta State

 

Finally, The body of the late veteran actor, Justus Esiri, was buried today in his hometown, Abraka, Delta State, South-south Nigeria.

The finally departure of  The late theatre icon was preceded by a Tribute Night organized by the Actors’ Guild of Nigerian in Lagos. The program was followed by a service of songs and general mass on Tuesday and Wednesday respectively at St. Jude Catholic Church, Mafoluku, Lagos, before his body was taken to Delta State for burial.

Friday morning, a commendation mass/lying-in-state was held at the Polo Turf in Abraka, before the body of Esiri was moved to his residence in Abraka for interment and entertainment of guests.

Chief Esiri popularly known as the Village Headmaster, died on 19 February following complications from diabetes.

Born in 1942, Esiri had his primary and secondary school education in Abraka and Warri, respectively, before proceeding to the Maximillan University and Weners Institute of Engineering in Germany, between 1964 and 1968.

Jim Iyke Set To Marry In October

 

During the just concluded wedding of 2face Iidibia in Dubai, Nigeria's popular movie star, Jim Iyke disclosed his marital plans.

While being interviewed at the Dubai International Airport he said “I will be getting married in October and when I’m done with preparations, I will invite you”

When asked further who the lucky bride was – though there are speculations that it’s his Jamaican girlfriend Kenturah Hamilton – he said “I am granting no interview on my private life right now but will give you the full gist when the time is right” He told City People magazine.

FG approves scrapping of UTME, NECO, NAPEP, others

THE Federal Government of Nigeria has finally resolved to scrap some of its agencies in line with the recommendations of the Stephen Oronsaye-led Presidential Committee on the Rationalisation and Restructuring of Federal Government Parastatals, Commissions and Agencies following its completion of study of its White Paper Committee.

In April last 2012, The committee had recommended the abolition of 38 agencies, the merger of 52 and the reversion of 14 to departments  in the ministries from  which they were carved out, a move the committee argued would save more than N862 billion between 2012 and 2015 if the government carried out what the panel has proposed.

Top insider sources confirmed in Abuja on Tuesday night that President Goodluck Jonathan, Vice President Namadi Sambo and select senior aides of the president met twice and eventually took decisions which included the scrapping of some agencies and merging of others.
